To celebrate the 17th anniversary of its broadcast in 2008, “Macross F” has announced the release of an all-time best album that will include songs that have not been included in previous albums. “Macross F All-Time Best Album ‘Nyannyan Greatest Hits!'” will be released on April 29, 2025, which is Ranka’s birthday. The limited edition jacket illustration and the release of the analog version have also been revealed.
“Macross F” is a TV anime that was aired in 2008 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the “Macross” series, which was celebrating its 40th anniversary since its first broadcast.
Set on the 25th New Macross-class immigration fleet, the “Macross Frontier,” as the mysterious extraterrestrial life form “Vajra” approaches, the story depicts a love triangle between pilot Saotome Alto, top singer Sheryl Nome, also known as the “Fairy of the Galaxy,” and Ranka Lee, a girl aspiring to become a singer, as well as flashy mecha action with the transformable fighter “Valkyrie.”
Now, it has been decided that an all-time best album will be released in 2024, “17 years since the series was first broadcast on TV in 2008.” This information was announced at the special event “Super Dimension Fan Club Macross Spirit Meeting 2024.11.23 ~We are Sheryl… Sheryl Nome. It’s rare to have a birthday like this!”, held today, November 23rd, to celebrate the birthday of “Galaxy Fairy” Sheryl Nome.
“Macross F All Time Best Album ‘Nyan Nyan Greatest Hits!'” will be released on April 29, 2025, which is the birthday of “Super Space Cinderella” Ranka Lee, and will include songs that have not been included in previous albums, such as “Labyrinth of Time,” the theme song for the short film “Macross F: The Labyrinth of Time,” “Sacrifice,” and “Good job!”
This album will be released in three formats: a limited edition Deculture special edition, a limited edition, and a regular edition.
The limited edition bonus CD will include a drama and cover song project “Deculture Singing Contest” in which Sheryl and Ranka sing each other’s songs. The limited edition
Deculture special edition will come with a Blu-ray and acrylic stand containing “Musume Musume Chronicle,” a compilation of past live digest videos, in addition to the drama and cover song CD included in the limited edition.
The first production run of all three versions will include a serial code for advance ticket application for “SANKYO presents Macross F Galaxy Live☆Final 2025,” the largest solo live concert in the history of “Macross F,” which will be held at K Arena on July 26th and 27th, 2025, the birthday of the main character, Alto Saotome. This concert will be the first solo concert in four years.
It was also announced that a live concert commemorating the 20th anniversary of May’n’s debut, “SANKYO presents May’n 20th Anniversary Concert Gratz from MACROSS F,” will be held on May 9th and 10th.
The cover illustration for the limited edition was also released at the same time, and was drawn by Risa Ebata, who is in charge of character design for “Macross F.” The cover illustration for the regular edition will also be drawn by Risa Ebata, and the design will be announced at a later date, so please look forward to it.
In addition, it has been decided that the first analog record (3LP) of “Macross F” will be released at the same time as the CD, and it will be a 3-LP set of carefully selected songs from the all-time best album. The first production run of this will be on colored vinyl, so be sure to check it out.
A special set of “Musume Musume” will be available exclusively through the “Super Dimension Fan Club Macross Soul” and VICTOR ONLINE STORE. It will include a limited edition Deculture special edition, an analog edition, and a tapestry with the cover design. The set is limited in quantity, so make sure to reserve early.
In addition, if you preorder this album at a participating store during the period, you will receive the drama CD “Triangle Birthday” as an early reservation bonus.
