It has been announced that the cosplay event “acosta!@Kantele x Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street” will be held for the first time on November 30th and December 1st, 2024, in the area from Tenma to Ogimachi, including Kantele Ogimachi Square in Osaka. The cosplay dance entertainment festival “CDEF” will also be held at the same time.
“acosta!” is an event where cosplayers and photographers can enjoy photo sessions and interactions, and is held at 42 locations nationwide, mainly in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. The event attracts over 200,000 people annually, making it the largest in the industry, with 70% of participants being female and 80% being in their teens and 20s, making it highly popular among Gen Z. The expanded version of acosta!, “Ultra acosta!”, held from September 6th to 8th, attracted a record 23,000 visitors, and the event continues to expand in scale.
This time, “acosta!@Kantele x Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street” is being held for the first time in collaboration with Kansai Telecasting Corporation at Kantele Ogimachi Square, Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street, and Ogimachi Park in Osaka. Not only can you enjoy cosplay photo sessions and interactions at each venue, but the Cosplay Dance Entertainment Festival “CDEF” will also be held at the same time on the stage at Kantele Ogimachi Square Atrium. At “CDEF”, a variety of stage projects will be held, including cosplay dance performances by groups of two or more participants based on the theme of their own work.
The transformation of the familiar town into an extraordinary and fascinating world by the cosplayers will be enjoyable not only for the participating cosplayers and photographers, but also for the local residents. Also, on the day of the event, participating cosplayers and the organizers will hold a “Cosplay Clean Walk” to pick up trash within the venue.
