About the Show and Her Character
“Natsuha, the character I voice, debuted in the same idol group as Mio. However, while I continued, Mio chose to retire. I’ve never debuted in an idol group myself, but working in temporary units and projects where we cheered each other on like comrades made me deeply connect with Natsuha’s story. Watching Mio struggle from the sidelines, feeling helpless when I couldn’t change her decision to quit, must have been incredibly painful.
Working alongside Maaya Sakamoto (voice of Mio) in other projects as a buddy, but now seeing her character in turmoil while my character tries to support her, was a fresh experience for me. There’s a short interaction between Natsuha and Mio that captures the realization they can no longer strive toward the same goal, and the sense of hopelessness in that moment was profound.
Most Memorable Scene or Line
The flashback scenes where both Natsuha and Mio are just starting out, dreaming big and having fun together, were the best! I even thought, ‘They should make a whole episode just on this backstory!’ It’s rare for me to play such cheerful roles with Maaya, so it was a joyful experience.
Being an idol is challenging, but in the final scenes, where the characters part ways, they find their own paths while wishing each other happiness. Even if they never meet again, I hope they both find their own version of joy. Please, everyone, root for Mio and Natsuha as they pursue their happiness!”
Stay tuned for Episode 10 of “Mio Lives Downstairs,” and don’t miss out on these touching moments between Mio and Natsuha!
