“Chiikawa Character Magnets”, acrylic magnets using illustrations from the manga, are being re-released. The re-released set is available in a box of 14 magnets on Bandai Namco Group’s official online store, Premium Bandai.
“Chiikawa” is a manga by illustrator Nagano from X (formerly Twitter). It depicts the fun, sad, and slightly hard daily life of the always hardworking Chiikawa and her friends Hachiware and Usagi, as well as other unique characters.
The first six volumes of the book “Chiikawa: Something Small and Cute” are currently on sale from Kodansha. The long-awaited seventh volume of the latest comic is scheduled to be released on November 21, 2024. In addition, a TV anime version has been broadcast on Fuji TV’s Mezamashi TV since April 2022.
A wide range of developments have been made, including merchandise, collaboration cafes, and corporate collaborations, and the “Chiikawa Bakery” opened in the Harajuku/Omotesando area on October 29, 2024, which has become a hot topic.
“Chiikawa Character Magnets,” currently on sale at Premium Bandai, are acrylic magnets featuring illustrations from the manga. They are all about 40 to 50 mm in size, making them cute and easy to stick anywhere.
The lineup includes 21 different designs, including direct cut-outs of manga frames and pale pastel color designs.
In addition to the standard Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, there are also flying squirrels, chestnut manju, and Shisa. Chimeras, Odes, and goblins are also included.
The illustrations are full of memorable scenes, such as a hahahaha chimera with “more hair than I’ve ever had” and a mushroom-infested Chiikawa, and you’ll want to take your time to look at them all. There are so many that you’ll want to collect them all.
“Chiikawa Character Magnets” comes in a pack of 14 and costs 3,850 yen (tax included). Pre-orders are currently being accepted for the set at “Premium Bandai”.
