Theme cafes celebrating the 50th anniversary of Sanrio’s character “My Melody” will open for a limited time in Tokyo, Osaka, Aichi, and Miyagi from December 12, 2024. The stores will offer special menu items with a pink motif.
My Melody debuted in 1975. Born on January 18th, she is a caring, honest and cheerful girl who loves her younger brother. She treasures the cute hood her grandmother made for her. Her hobby is baking cookies. Her favorite food is almond pound cake, and her dream for the future is to become a confectioner. As a member of the Sanrio Characters, she is still loved by many fans even now, 50 years after her debut.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of My Melody, a themed cafe called “My Melody Cafe ~Heartful Party~” will be opening for a limited time.
Starting from December 12th, the store will be opened in four locations in Harajuku, Nagoya, Umeda, and Sendai, with the concept of “My Melody will do her best to serve you with special sweets and presents.” The interior of the store will be pink-based, creating a romantic space filled with “cuteness.”
The menu is also elaborate, with dishes such as “My Melody’s Welcome Omelette Rice” with heart-shaped scrambled eggs and ratatouille to express gratitude, the party plate-style “My Melody Plate with All the Marieland Delicious Desserts,” and the cute “My Melody’s… Gratin♪” with a big heart.
*The “・” in the product name is actually a heart symbol.
There is also a wide variety of desserts on offer, including a parfait depicting the playful My Melody, a waffle box designed to look like a gift box, and a birthday menu to celebrate My Melody’s birthday (available for a set period of time).
Of course, there are also special drinks on the menu.
In addition, the lineup of original goods includes “acrylic key chains” (6 random types), “holographic tin badges” (same), “wooden magnets” (4 random types), as well as a number of items that are easy to use in everyday life, such as “drawstring bags” and “mugs.”
The theme cafe will be giving out “square badges” (10 random designs) as a special benefit to those who make a reservation in advance. There will also be special benefits available only to visitors. Visitors to the cafe will be given a “thank you card” and a visitor campaign will be held on social media.
Reservations for each venue are being accepted on the cafe’s official website. The reservation fee is 660 yen (tax included/person). Up to four seats can be reserved per application. Original cafe goods will also be sold online for a limited time from 12:00 on December 12th to 23:59 on March 2nd, 2025.
