There are only a few days left in 2024. December will soon be upon us.
December is called Shiwasu in the lunar calendar. Shiwasu means monk, and there is a theory that this month is so busy that even people like monks, who are usually calm, are running around.
Monks are also familiar characters in anime and games. They are depicted in various ways , such as training to teach and spread the way of Buddhism, or playing an active role as the party’s healer .
So, Anime! Anime! will be conducting a reader survey titled “What comes to mind when you think of a ‘monk’ character?”, following on from last year. Please answer in a free-form format, telling us the character and the name of the work you think it is.
