Motunui is a southern paradise surrounded by beautiful coral reefs. There is a legend on this island. “When the demigod Maui stole the heart of Te Fiti, the goddess of life, a dark darkness was born. However, one day, someone who will travel beyond the coral reef will appear and save the people of the island before the darkness covers everything.”…
Moana (Yabiku China) has a special bond with the sea and has come to be loved by the sea due to a “certain experience” in her childhood. She has a strong desire to go out into the ocean, but her father Tui (Yasaki Motomu) strictly forbids her from going out into the dangerous sea.

One day, the coconut trees on the island became sick and they could no longer catch fish.
Moana was encouraged by Grandma Tala (Mari Natsuki) to “follow her heart,” so she said goodbye to her mother and set off on a journey across the ocean. With the help of the sea, she arrived at an island where the legendary hero Maui (Matsuya Onoe) lived.
Maui had once been able to transform into various creatures using a fishing hook, but after stealing the heart of Te Fiti, he lost his fishing hook and was trapped on the island for 1,000 years…

A kind-hearted girl with a strong sense of justice. Due to a certain experience in her childhood, she formed a special bond with the sea and was loved by the sea. She
was born and raised in Motunui, a place where legends live on. Her father is the village chief, and she is expected to one day succeed her father as the leader of the island’s people. Although she feels a little pressured, she is doing her best to live up to those expectations. Grandma Tara, who is
always available to give her advice, is a reliable ally.

A demigod who controls the wind and the sea. He is fearless and confident.
With a giant fishing hook given to him by his god, he can freely control natural phenomena and is a master of shapeshifting, able to transform into any living creature.
He was once a great hero, but after stealing Te Fiti’s “heart”, he lost his god’s fishing hook and was no longer able to use its powers. His body is covered with many tattoos that represent past events.

Moana’s grandmother is a good confidant and best friend to Moana. She is knowledgeable about the history and legends of the island, and tells them to her children.
She often behaves strangely and is considered an oddball on the island, but she is the only person who realizes that Moana is a special girl chosen by the sea.

Moana’s father and the chief of Motunui. He is strict and somewhat stubborn, but is a reliable leader respected by the people of the island, and wants his daughter Moana to follow in his footsteps.

Moana’s mother. A strong-willed woman, full of love and compassion, she wants to protect her daughter from danger, but she respects Moana’s desire to go out to sea and gently sends her off.

Moana’s beloved chicken. He has a habit of swallowing anything in front of him, which often causes trouble.
After accidentally getting on the boat, he ends up traveling with Moana.

Moana’s faithful pet pig. He is full of energy and innocent. He always follows Moana around.
He tried to go out to sea with Moana, but was swept away by the waves and barely escaped back to the island.

Moana and Maui meet a cute-looking pirate on their journey, but he is ruthless and cruel. He wears armor made of coconuts and uses poisoned arrows as a weapon, and attacks mercilessly to get what he wants. He is after the “heart” of Te Fiti that Moana has.

A giant crab monster who lives in the underwater demon kingdom of Lalotai. He loves collecting shiny things, and is self-centered and conceited, believing that he looks beautiful and cool when adorned with glittering treasures.
